Finding tangible ways to honor people in our community who have impacted persons with disabilities has been a passion of mine for several years. It has only been recently that our family has made a very significant commitment to offer our sincere gratitude to several amazing community advocates. To date, we have had the privilege of presenting the Robert C. Henderson “You’re the Best” Award to five individuals publicly, and to one individual in a private setting.

Robert Christopher Henderson's life was one of courage and love, despite the medical complexities caused by his rare CHD2 Epileptic Encephalopathy and mitochondrial disease. For eighteen years, he found joy in those around him and brought joy to others with his favorite saying, "You're the Best!" In honor of Robert’s memory, our family recognizes individuals who support and advocate for persons with disabilities with this beautiful award.

We have the joy of serving with so many individuals and companies in our communities. It is always meaningful to us to show some love in this way! I recently heard the song, So Glad We Met”, by DOE after learning about Sanctuary Mental Health Ministries. I am convinced that it will touch your life as it has touched mine.

I hope you will be reminded today of your value and importance in our work to benefit others.

Congratulations:

So Glad We Met

Where are you hiding?

Is love what you're fighting?

Somebody's looking for you

Looking for you

Lost deep in the shadows

Looking for silver linings

Somebody's needing you

Needing you

Maybe you got used to being alone

Maybe you're just scared of being known

But you were made for something big

You were made so you could live

Yeah, there's divine intention in your breath

When water's high and hope is low

Don't you try to float aloneI know you tried to see how far you'd get

But I'm so glad we met

I know how it feels

When you get caught in the deep end

Longing for someone to meet you where you are

Oh, I can't be your savior

But trust that I'll be there

I'll be fighting for you

Fighting for you

Oh, I'll be fighting for you

Fighting for you

Cause you were made for something big

You were made so you could live

And there's divine intention in your breath

When water's high and hope is low

Don't you try to float alone

I know you tried to see how far you'd get

But I'm so glad that we met

You're a shining star this world could not forget

Don't you give up, please don't give up

And you will light the way for those you haven't met

Don't you give up, please don't give up

You're a shining star this world could not forget

Don't you give up, please don't give up

And you will light the way for those you haven't met

Don't you give up, please don't give up

Cause you were made for something big

You were made so you could live

Yeah, there's divine intention in your breath

When water's high and hope is low

Don't you try to float alone

I know you tried to see how far you'd get

But I'm so glad that we met

You're a shining star my world could not forget

Don't you give up, please don't give up

You will light the way for those you haven't met

Don't you give up, please don't give up
