A Night Filled with Purpose!

It was a Saturday night filled with purposeful applause for a diverse group of caregivers, physicians, and community advocates who sacrificially serve. Chris and I were thrilled to support the Hearts of Gold event presented by the Gordon Hartman Family Foundation that recognized the outstanding work of many award recipients, including our dear friend Dr. Karen Keough.

Dr. Keough, a seasoned neurologist specializing in refractory epilepsy in children, received the Wall of Fame Award for her outstanding work at Pediatrix Specialty Care of Austin. As our son, Robert’s, primary physician for most of his life, and our cherished friend for over 20 years, we could not be prouder of her accomplishment.

It was awe-inspiring to watch her name being called as she joined the stage with Morgan's Wonderland founder, Gordon Hartman, and CEO, Dr. Brent Fields. Her husband, Le, surprised her by inviting and arranging seats for family members and friends at this year’s moving event. Dr. Keough's name is now inscribed on the Morgan's Wonderland Wall of Fame, recognizing her extraordinary impact on many lives.

I could go on and on about Dr. Keough's medical expertise and lasting commitment to making her patients' lives the best they can possibly be. I could, but I will not because if you don’t know her, you would probably think that I was exaggerating. However, for those of us who know and love her, you will just have to take our word for it. She is unmistakably one of the very best in her field.
